In the case of individual submissions, the Chief Editor makes an initial appraisal of each manuscript according to the journal scope and criteria. If the topic and treatment seem potentially appropriate for the journal, the manuscript is assigned to a managing editor, or to a member of the editorial board, who organizes and oversees the review process. Once the review process has been completed,  the managing editor recommends acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief, who is supported by world experts through an international Editorial Board.
