Editorial Policies

The editorial policies of the Journal of Multiscale Neuroscience strive to adhere to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Scholarly Publishing by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and are committed to upholding the guidelines for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work by the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). The journal’s aim for these guidelines remains to provide best practices and guidance from the world-leading organizations regarding research integrity and publishing ethics for scholarly publication. Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to be aware of, and comply with the best practice in publication ethics. Our publication ethics and publication malpractice statement is mainly based on the Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors without association.​


The Journal of Multiscale Neuroscience is committed to providing immediate open access to its content by virtue of reproducibility, methodology, reporting standards to facilitate faster and more effective research discovery for greater global exchange of knowledge. JMN publishes articles in the field of neuroscience and related subdisciplines. It is an international journal that promotes publication among research scientists, medical scholars, academicians, and professionals across the globe. ​


The journal operates under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence CC-BY-NC-ND. All authors publishing in Journal of Multiscale Neuroscience accept these as the terms of public license, which is nothing more than a permission from the “rights-holder”, or licensor, to another person to use the work in ways described by the license.​


Journal of Multiscale Neuroscience is an open access journal, committed to making scholarly work freely available, allowing for immediate free access to your research outputs and permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, or link to the full texts of your articles for greater global exchange of knowledge under the CC-BY-NC-ND license. JMN requires authors to confirm, on submission, that they and their co-authors meet the requirements for authorship and typically provide an ORCID (Open Researcher Contributor ID). An ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier to distinguish individuals from others with similar names and links individuals to their research outputs.


All the articles published in this journal are made immediately available worldwide from the date of publication. We do not charge any fees for any reader to download articles for their own scholarly use, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author as long as they cite the source.

In the case of individual submissions, the Chief Editor makes an initial appraisal of each manuscript according to the journal scope and criteria. If the topic and treatment seem potentially appropriate for the journal, the manuscript is assigned to a member of the editorial board, who organizes and oversees the review process. Once the review process has been completed, the chief editor recommends acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript.
